CANCELLED: Education and Community Connection - Online Workshop

THIS EVENT HAS BEEN CANCELLED

We are co-creating a new school in the Port Phillip area and we want to hear from you!

The REP team is running a series of three in person and online workshops to help us reimagine education for a thriving community. The learnings we glean from this workshop will inform what our pilot school will look/sound/feel/smell/taste like.

In this third in person workshop we will unpack what a connected school community looks and feels like. How might we create a school that nurtures a deep sense of belonging in students, educators, families and beyond? How do we grow the village that it takes to raise a child?

The workshop will also challenge you to think outside the four walls of the classroom and imagine what collaboration and learning might look like if we were embedded in the community. Do we spend weeks at the zoo, immersing ourselves in the wildlife and learning there? Maybe we volunteer at a local cafe and learn how to make coffee or count the tills? Perhaps we join the vigils on Brighton Road run by the Grannies for Refugees and learn from our elders? Or do we spend time at the beach, sitting with our curiosity and engaging all the senses? The possibilities for learning and meaningful community connection are endless.

Come and dream with us!

Whether you are an educator, a student, a parent, or a community member, your voice and insights are valuable and important.

The workshop will start bang on 6pm so please be on time.

Please fill out the form below to register your interest and we will send you a link a few days before the workshop.

We are running this workshop in person and online. We would much prefer to see you at the in person workshop but if this isn’t accessible to you for whatever reason, we hope to see you at the online workshop.
